Is free will without limits?
We like to think that we have a free will that it is wholly without limits. We can choose to do whatever we want and however long we want to do it. If we review the idea carefully, we will realize that this is not true.
Everything is limited in some way by the manner of its creation.
Take a cat for example. If you wave a stick in front of it and throw the stick away, the cat will not run after the stick. It’s impulses are limited by the manner of its creation. In the same way, the children of God are limited by their Creator in what they can create. It is unnatural and it takes great effort for the children of light to create pain and darkness.
Although pain thresholds can be high, they are not limitless. Eventually, the children begin to recognize, however dimly, that there must be a better way to live. This is a welcome moment because this is when their spiritual eye opens and they are reborn.
Thank God for placing limits on darkness and miscreation.
